))Volunteers are the lifeblood of Welsh sports, with over 3.8% of the adult population volunteering in sports, giving an average of 2.5 hours per week. This represents over 90,000 adults, equating to some £86,000,000 contribution to the economy in labour costs alone. Volunteers in sports across the UK represent 26.2% of the overall volunteer sector; the largest recorded proportion of any group. Quite simply, without volunteers, there would be no sport in its current form.

Team Sport Conwy

What is it?

Volunteer recruitment programme for ages 15-25 years. Team Sport Conwy looks to recruit and upskill sports volunteers so that they are best equipped to work within community club settings, assist with sporting events across Conwy, and gain valuable experience in volunteering in sport.

Training

All recruited volunteers will complete a training programme designed to provide them with the prerequisites to working within the sporting sector. The programme will consist of the following:

  • SCUK Keeping Safe in Sport (13-17yrs) or SCUK Safeguarding & Protecting Children (18-25yrs).  Courses are run through UK Coaching, a recognised training provider throughout the sports sector.
  • Emergency First Aid Course.  Courses are run face to face in Conwy providing a 6hr accredited Emergency First Aid Course.
  • UK Disability Inclusion Training – UK DIT for Coaches and Volunteers
  • NGB Leaders Qualifications – Courses to be determined on an individual need basis.
